Colour Consultancy

PUREPAINT work in conjunction with Bernay Laity an expert colour psychologist from InColour Colour and Design Consultancy, to offer a unique service to its customers.

Colour is more than just a visual experience, it influences mood and behaviour and can be used to optimise the wellbeing of your family, employees, patients or visitors and can provide the right ambiance and environment to suit you at home or in your place of business.

There are many benefits of choosing optimum colours:

  • Increase your sense of wellbeing
  • Boost your confidence
  • Communicate face to face more effectively
  • Increase brand recognition and worth
  • Create surroundings that work well for you

Step 1: Assessment

The first step in the colour consultancy service is for Bernay to visit your home or premises to carry out a site analysis, as well as to meet with you and find out more about what you are looking to achieve.

Step 2: Recommendations

Bernay will then produce a report and visual ‘mood board’ or ‘colour palette’ for you which recommends a colour scheme and relates to styles, patterns and textures, so you will learn what sort of fabrics, accessories and design themes will work best for you. This includes an in-depth explanation as to the chosen colours and the psychological effect they will invoke and where the colours should be used, both internally and externally (if required), so as to enhance or support a particular psychological response or behaviour.

Step 3: Implementation

Once the colours have been selected, PUREPAINT will have the exact shades mixed using our professional mixing service and carry out the desired decoration work.

You and your family, employees, patients or visitors, can then enjoy your new home or work environment which has been specifically created to meet your requirements.

Are you decorating a nursery or child’s room?

Choosing the right colours for a child’s room can be difficult, especially if you’re preparing a nursery before the arrival of a child and you don’t know the sex. However, choosing the right colour is more than just creating a nice environment for your child or children, research has shown that colour can significantly affect children’s moods and emotions, and this is where using a colour psychologist can offer your family, a nursery or school, tremendous benefits.

Here are some examples:

Yellow: Known as a soft calming colour, yellow has the ability to create a warm sunny feel which brightens and brings warmth to a dim room. Yellow is also known for its ability to stimulate muscle activity. A great choice for a home nursery.

Red: Bright reds increase desire, excitability and passion. Red can be used as an accent colour to brighten up a room but is not recommended as a primary decor colour. This would be the wrong choice for a child who may already struggle with having quiet times.*
